The project “Capacity building of NGOs in Greece, Romania, Bulgaria for mobilizing support for MDGs” is implemented in the target countries Greece, Romania and Bulgaria with the significant cooperation and input from partners from Sub-Saharan Africa. The project is funded by European Commission.

The overall objective of the project is to mobilise support for the achievement of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the promotion of North-South understanding and cooperation in pursuing common development goals. Furthermore, the project seeks to promote volunteerism and the active engagement of citizens.
The project aims at building the capacity of local NGOs from education, health services and media services sectors, raising awareness in the target countries and engaging their constituencies in action for raising awareness and promoting the achievement of MDGs in sub-Saharan Africa.
Furthermore, the project aims to a) put on the agenda the need to take action; b) provide the know-how and the necessary tools for that purpose; c) provide incentives and engage specialised NGOs from the three sectors in action for mobilising support and promoting the MDGs.
Last but not least, the project supports directly one important GOAL which is the close cooperation between developing countries and developed countries aiming at establishing a productive dialogue between their organisations.
